The Elmgreen School Community Fundraising Campaign
URGENT TECHNOLOGY APPEAL: COVID-19
An appeal to parents and carers, and our supporters in the local community
During the COVID-19 period, The Elmgreen School has moved its teaching on-line. This means the school can continue to support learning, that it can ensure feedback and engagement with students, and that it can help families to remain in contact with the school. Access to technology is very important during this period and overcoming digital disadvantage is absolutely key to our students' future. We are also clear that as the lockdown is lifted we will be living in a new 'normal' where every student will need ongoing high quality on-line access to the very best educational resources.
We have many students who are struggling with accesss to adequate technology for on-line learning. We are committed to ending this disadvantage across The Elmgreen School. Our staff know families very well and they know who needs urgent assistance and what sort of assistance will best help.
We need urgent financial donations to purchase:
+ Refurbished laptops
+ Dongles (for internet access)
+ Professional refurbishing of donated laptops
+ Bulk buy of new laptops (where there are long delays in the supply of refurbished equipment)
If you feel you can contribute an amount to our ambitious appeal, please do so as soon as possible.
The Elmgreen School was founded just over ten years ago by the local community who came together to form The Parent Promoters' Foundation, a charity that campaigned to open a local school. Since then, the values of community have remained at the heart of everything we do. Our ethos has always been:
We look after ourselves; we look after each other; we look after our school; we look after our community.
