Kaye's Association of Friends is the PTA for Kaye's First and Nursery School.
We've raised £3000! Absolutely amazing!
This is the amount that One Community will match for us, and was our target for the end of January but we've already raised that amount and it's not even the end of December!!!
Thank you everybody.
We will soon update the campaign with Orchard plans, and in the meantime are applying for grants and looking at other funding options.
with Match it! Any money raised to us or donated will be matched by them. Your
donation will have twice the impact and help us continue with the great work we
do for our community. Thank you to One
Community for powering this initiative. Let’s do this together!
We have some exciting ideas for the orchard. It is a very special space, which is a real asset to Kaye’s.
Kaye's Orchard Project
We hope to renovate the Orchard, restoring the footbridge, cleaning and rejuvenating the pond, adding fruit trees and a fruiting hedgerow, adding a raised bed for each year group to tend, repairing the classroom space so it can be used by classes again and generally tidying the space up! If we raise enough funds, there is even a possibility of the school keeping chickens!
The benefits to the children would be numerous, with so many possible links to the curriculum, mindfulness and wellbeing. Let’s work together to make Kaye’s Orchard a space we are all really proud of!
What we do
We work all year round to raise money, which is spent on equipment and resources to enhance our children’s education experience and the school’s facilities.
Like most PTAs, the majority of our funds are raised through the events that we run. Last year's events included: Halloween and Valentine Disco, Christmas Fair and Movie Nights. This year is going to be different, and difficult, so while we continue to come up with fundraising ideas and events, we are asking you to consider supporting us through regular giving too, if you are able.
How we spend the money we raise:
Following a fundraising event the money is banked. It is at our PTA Committee meetings, that the decisions on how to spend the money are agreed.
Usually, we will have a ‘wish list’ of items that the school would like the PTA to consider funding.
Sometimes this will be as a result of the children asking for something. At other times it will be for resources to improve a particular area of the curriculum or school environment. The PTA funds are spent on the ‘extras’ that are not provided by the school’s budget, thus making our children’s learning experiences so much more fulfilling and exciting.
This year we are particularly focusing on improving the Orchard area as it a wonderful resource, and something we should make the most of.
We always endeavour to spend the funds in ways that will benefit all our children across all areas of the school and curriculum.
