#NBS Lockdown Laptops
Firstly, and most importantly, we hope that you are all keeping safe and well.
Nicholas Breakspear Catholic School is a place where ambition and love create a unique environment for development and learning and we need your help to continue with our mission during the lockdown and when we return to normal.
Like many schools, we are developing new ways of remote and blended learning and our pupils are coming to terms with learning in their own home environment.
Sadly, we are finding that there are many families within our community who simply cannot afford to buy laptops or tablets and some of our vulnerable pupils are falling behind in their lessons because they just cannot access the resources available to them.
This is turn is having a significant impact on their mental wellbeing and will mean they will struggle to catch up when schools finally return to normal. The effects could be devastating and long term.
These pupils do not meet the criteria for the Government laptop scheme and as a growing school with no excess funds to draw on, we are not in the position to be able to buy any new laptops ourselves.
NBS needs our community to come together now to help purchase laptops for our vulnerable pupils to enable them to study at home. Without your help, nearly 700 NBS students and their teachers and staff will continue to share just 90 laptops for the ENTIRE school.
£500 - Will buy one laptop
Your donation will go directly towards the purchase of new laptops which we will loan to our vulnerable students during the lockdown and as social distancing measures evovle. When we return to normal, the laptops will be used to support our SEN students and replace the old and outdated equipment we currently have in school.
Please reach into your hearts and your wallets to help our school and our vulnerable pupils at this incredibly challenging time.
Our Mission: Empowered by the presence of God and each other, we nurture our unique gifts to build a better world. This is our NBS Community.
